How to Fix T-Mobile Texts Not Working?

In this section, we will be discussing the fixes that will help you to fix the issue of T Mobile texts not working on your device.

Before you try the fixes below, make sure that you have a working T Mobile plan that supports SMS on your phone.

If you haven’t recharged and the plan has expired then please recharge it and you should be able to use texts again however if you have an ongoing plan and yet you are unable to use the text feature in your phone then please follow the fixes below.

1. Clear Cache for Your Phone Messaging App

The fix that you can try is to clear the cache for the Messaging app on your phone.

Accumulation of junk files in the cache folder can at times make the app stop functioning properly.

But it can be easily solved by deleting the cache files.

  • Go to Settings on your device.
  • Open Apps.
  • Select Manage Apps.
  • Navigate to Message and tap on it.
  • Tap on Clear Data or Clear Cache.

2. Check the Signal Bars

The next fix that you can try is to check the signal bars and see whether they are strong enough.

If you see that your signal bars are below 2 then weak signals might be the reason why you aren’t able to receive or send text messages in T Mobile.

Make sure to go to a location where the signal strength is good and then check whether you are able to send the texts.

3. Switch Off Aeroplane Mode

The next thing that you need to try is to check whether you have the Aeroplane mode switched off.

If the Aeroplane mode of your phone is switched on then make sure to switch it off and now your texts should be working properly.

Having the Aeroplane mode switched on makes it impossible for the phone to connect to a network which in turn hinders it from sending or receiving texts.

4. Check Your Storage Space

Make sure to also check your storage and keep at least 30% of it free.

If there isn’t much storage space left then that can be another reason why your texts are not working as your Phone will need some space to store the message and to send them.

In that case, making sure that you have more than enough space would help.

You can delete some files that you don’t need any more from your Phone Storage or you can use an SD Card to increase the storage space of your phone.

5. Check Your Blocked list

If you aren’t able to send texts or receive from a specific person then you might have blocked their number by mistake.

In that case, you should check your block list by going to the details of that contact in your phone and unblock it.

Now, you will be able to send messages to them without having any issues.

6. Configure Your APN Settings

For the next fix, you will have to configure the APN Settings from your phone.

If the APN Setting is not configured correctly then it could be the reason why your device is having connectivity issues due to which it is not able to send texts or receive any.

  • Open your Phone Settings and go to Connections.
  • Open Mobile networks.
  • Check to see that the Data switch is on.
  • Tap on Access Point Names to open it.
  • Navigate to the three dots at the top right-hand corner and select Reset to default.
  • Now, reboot your Phone.

7. Contact T Mobile Support Team

After you have tried all the fixes listed above you will be able to send and receive texts in your T Mobile.

However, if you aren’t able to do so then we strongly recommend that you contact the Support Team of T Mobile.

Make sure to tell the personnel the fixes that you have already tried and they will be able to help you out.
