How To Fix “Your Thread Failed To Upload” On Instagram Threads App?

To fix the “Your Thread Failed to Upload” issue on Instagram Threads, first, check the server status of Threads to ensure it is operational. A server outage or maintenance can prevent successful thread uploads.

Also, update your device’s operating system to the latest version, as Threads may require the latest OS for optimal performance and uploading threads.

1. Check the Server Status of Threads

The next thing you should do is check the Threads server status. If the server is down due to an outage or scheduled maintenance, you won’t be able to access the Threads app.

Threads Server Status

Threads cannot function without a stable connection to the server. The app will malfunction and might even show you the error, “Your Thread Failed to Upload. Post Failed to Upload” when you are trying to post in Threads.

If you find the server is up and running, you should try to open it and, Threads should work normally.

2. Update the OS of Your Device

As an alternative fix also make sure that your device OS is updated to the latest version. As Threads is one of the latest released apps to date, it needs the latest OS version to run smoothly on your device.

If you haven’t updated your OS  for quite some time now then the chances are that is the reason why Threads is failing to upload posts when you are trying to do it in Threads.

To update your OS you will have to go to Settings and then go to the System and from there update the OS if you find any updates pending. Different models of phones have different steps for this but you can always find the OS update from the Settings of your phone.

3. Disable VPN

If your device has been set up to use a VPN, you must disable it before you can post in Threads from your device.

The use of VPNs commonly causes service requests to be interrupted.

Furthermore, servers are misled by VPNs’ fake locations, which leads them to mark service requests as spam.

You should be able to use Threads without encountering any issues after turning off or uninstalling the VPN from your device.

If a service provider is providing your VPN, get in touch with them and ask them to add Threads to your whitelist.

4. Restart the Threads App

Another fix that you can try is to restart the Threads App after doing a Force Stop. On your device, go to Settings >> Apps >> Threads >> Force Stop to stop Threads immediately.

The next step is to restart Thread on your phone and check to see if the app is fixed.

5. Update Threads App

Check whether you are running the latest version of the Threads app on your device. Threads which is a part of the Instagram family regularly release app updates which make the app function better by getting rid of the bugs and glitches in the app.

You can easily update the Threads App by going to the Play Store or App Store and then updating the app from there.
