How to Use Instagram Threads Without an Instagram Account

Can You Use Instagram Threads Without an Instagram Account?

Unfortunately, you cannot currently use Threads without having an Instagram account.

This is because your Threads account is linked to and created from the Instagram account that you are logged in to on your device’s Instagram app.

As such, if you do not have an Instagram account, you will not be able to use Threads at all.

There are some signs that in the future you may be able to use Threads without an Instagram app, but this is not something that is currently possible at the moment.

This is because of Meta’s efforts to have a collection of platforms where users’ accounts are all linked to one another –– how your Facebook is linked to your Instagram, which is linked to your Threads.

While it was not mandatory in the past to link your Facebook to your Instagram, the case is not the same for your Instagram and Threads accounts.

How to Use Instagram Threads Without an Instagram Account?

As mentioned earlier, you cannot use Threads without having an Instagram account.

This is because you have to log in to Threads using your Instagram account.

If you do not have an Instagram account as of yet, you can always create a new one.

To make an Instagram account on your browser, follow the steps below:

1. Visit instagram.com.
2. This will show you the Login page.
3. Click on the Sign Up link at the bottom of the page.
4. This will take you to the Sign Up page.
5. Enter your contact information, name, username, and password for your new Instagram account. You can also use your Facebook account to seamlessly create a new account on Instagram as well.
6. Once done, click on Sign Up.

To make an Instagram account on the app, follow the steps below:

1. Open App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Store (on Android).
2. Enter Instagram in the search bar.
3. Click on the Install button.
4. Once downloaded, open the Instagram app.
5. This will open the Login page.
6. Click on the Sign Up link at the bottom of the page.
7. This will take you to the Sign Up page.
8. Enter your contact information, name, username, and password for your new Instagram account. You can also use your Facebook account to seamlessly create a new account on Instagram as well.
9. Once done, click on Sign Up.

Congratulations!

You have just created your Instagram account and will be redirected to the Home page.

Now you can create your Threads account by following the steps below:

1. Open App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Store (on Android).
2. Enter Threads in the search bar.
3. Click on the Install button.
4. Once downloaded, open the Threads app.
5. This will show you the Login page.
6. Click on the Log in with Instagram button. Check the Instagram username shown to make sure you are logging in with the correct account.

You will then be automatically logged in without any more extra steps.

If you do not wish to use Instagram and only Threads, that is also okay.
