Starlink Satellite Train Tracker: How It Works

Starlink satellite trains are a fascinating sight in the night sky, resembling a chain of bright dots travelling across the sky.

These trains are formed by the Starlink satellites, which provide internet coverage on a global scale.

If you’re interested in tracking and seeing Starlink satellite trains, this blog provides you with some resources and tips to help you see the series of lights travelling around the sky.

What Is Starlink Satellite Train Tracker?

The Starlink satellite train tracker is a tool that allows you to track the Starlink satellites in real-time as they orbit the Earth. There are several ways to track the Starlink satellite trains, including using apps, websites, and other resources.

How To See Starlink Satellite Train, How To Track?

Step 1: Choose a Tracker

Select a Starlink satellite tracking service or website. Some popular options include Find StarlinkSatellitemap.space, and apps like Star Walk and Satellite Tracker by Vito Technology.

To Use SatelliteMap.space:

This website offers a live view of Starlink internet satellites and coverage. You can use it to track the satellites’ positions and see their coverage areas.

  • Go To SatrliteMap.space and click on “Settings
  • Enter your home “Longitude” and “Latitude” details
  • Go to “Starlink” and Select your” Location” on 3D Globe
  • Click on “calculate.” You will see the Date and time of arrival
  • Note it down and ready to view the Starlink arrival.

To Use Starlink Finder

You can also use the Findstarlink website to track the Starlink satellite. It may not be accurate but you have a high possibility to see the Starlink satellite.

  • Go to the Starlink Finder Website
  • Select the “By Name tab
  • Enter “Country” and “Place“. If you cannot find the exact place, choose any place near you.
  • You can also use “Coordinates” where you have to enter your location “longitude and latitude details.
  • Click “Find Visible Times“. You will get the Starlink arrival time and date.

Step 2: Set Notifications

If the service offers notifications, enable them to receive alerts before the Starlink train is due to pass overhead. Alternatively, you can also add the date and time to the calendar and set the remainder.

Step 3: Prepare For Viewing

On the day of the sighting, find a spot with a clear view of the sky, ideally away from bright city lights. Bring any desired equipment, such as binoculars or a telescope, although they are not necessary—the satellites can typically be seen with the naked eye.

At the scheduled time, look in the direction indicated by the tracker. The Starlink satellites will appear as a line of moving bright dots, crossing the sky.

Starlink Satellite Visibilty

Remember, the visibility of satellites can be affected by weather, light pollution, and other factors, so it may take a few attempts to successfully spot the Starlink train.

The trains are only visible shortly after launch, and once the satellites climb to their operating altitude of 340 miles (550 kilometres), they disperse.

However, with these resources and tips, you can increase your chances of catching a glimpse of this unique phenomenon at night.
