What Is A Threads Badge And Its Purpose?
The Threads badge is a rank that is given to each account that joins Threads based on when you join the app. It is displayed on your Instagram profile’s bio under the name of your account.
The Threads badge added to your Instagram account has two main purposes:
- The badge makes it easy for your followers to find you in the Threads app.
- It is also a very convenient option for you to switch to your Threads profile by tapping on this badge.
However, the Threads badge is available only to those Instagram accounts that have joined the Threads app. If you have not joined Threads then you will not see the badge on your Instagram account.
Is The Threads Badge Temporary On your Instagram Profile?
The Threads badge is a temporary feature displayed on your Instagram Profile to show your followers that you are active on the Threads app.
It automatically appears on your Instagram bio when you join the Threads app. There is no way to add it manually to your account.
You can only control to remove it by tapping on the badge and following the instructions as prompted.
If you have not joined the Threads app then you will not have access to the account you follow on the Threads app.

What Happens When You Tap On The Badge?
When you tap on the Threads badge, a prompt screen pops up giving you two options. The pop-up tells your rank which is the serial number in the order you join threads.
It also shows the message that it is a temporary badge to let your followers know and send them directly to your profile. If they also use the Threads app.
Then there are two options “View Threads profile” and “Hide badge”.
If you tap on “View Threads profile” you will be taken to your Threads profile on the Threads app.
But if you tap on “Hide badge”. Another prompt will be displayed on the screen asking you if you are sure to remove the badge from your profile.
It also warns that once the badge is removed you will not be able to add it back to your profile.
So if you accidentally remove the Threads badge then you will not be able to add it back to your Instagram account.
