1. Check for Instagram App Update:
- Open your device’s app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iPhone).
- Search for “Instagram” and see if there are any available updates.
- If an update is available, tap on “Update” to install it.
2. Restart Your Device
- Turn off your device completely.
- Wait for a few seconds and then turn it back on.
- Open the Instagram app and check if dark mode is working now.
3. Disable and Re-enable Dark Mode
- Open the Instagram app on your device.
- Go to your profile by tapping on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
- Tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
- Tap on “Settings & Privacy”
- Then tapĀ Accessibility >> TapĀ Dark mode.
- From here you can turn dark mode on or off by tapping next to On or Off. You can also choose to adjust dark mode for Instagram based on your device’s settings by tapping System default.
Note: Dark mode cannot be directly turned on or off within the Instagram app for iPhone. Turning on dark mode in your iPhone’s device settings will enable dark mode for several apps, not just Instagram.
