How to Fix Instagram Threads Notification Not Going Away

The issues can range from a simple notifications settings configuration issue to a technical bug in the Threads app itself. Below we have listed the most important reasons why you might be having the not permitted error in Threads or isn’t able to log in.

  • You have not disabled the notifications settings of Threads.
  • Threads is not updated to the latest version due to which it is malfunctioning.
  • Cache files of Threads have collected too many junk files.
  • Technical error or glitch in Threads App.

How to Fix Instagram Threads Notification Not Going Away?

1. Disable Threads Notification

The first thing that you need to do is to check whether the Threads app on your device has the notification settings configured properly.

If the settings have notifications enabled then you will have to disable it to pause your Threads notification.

  • Open Threads on your phone.
  • Go to your Profile by taping on the profile picture.
  • Select the two lines at the top right corner to open Settings.
  • Select Notifications.
  • Toggle on the options if you see it is toggled off.

2. Update Threads To Latest Version

Verify that you are running the latest version of the Threads app on your device. Threads, which is a part of the Instagram family regularly release app updates which make the app function better by getting rid of the bugs and glitches in the app. You can easily update the Threads App by going to the Play Store or App Store and then updating the app from there.

3. Turn Off Notification Permission of Threads

You can turn off the notification settings from the phone setting for Threads. After doing that you will not receive notifications from Threads App on your phone.

To do that you will have to go to the Settings of your Device and then go to Apps and open Threads. From there select the App permission option and toggle off all the permissions that you don’t want to give to Threads.

4. Clear Threads Cache File

If your Threads app notification is malfunctioning and not going away then there might be too many cache files in your Device.

The best solution you can try in that case is to clear the cache for the Threads app. You will need to do this since the cache folders contain junk and corrupted data, which could cause Threads to crash or stop working.

  • Go to Settings on your device.
  • Open Apps.
  • Select Manage Apps.
  • Navigate to Threads and tap on it.
  • Tap on Clear Data or Clear Cache.

  • Find Threads App and click on that.
  • Tap on the Offload App button.
  • Again Reinstall the Threads app.

5. Uninstall and Reinstall Threads

As an alternative fix, you can just uninstall Threads and then reinstall it again and then see whether that solves the issue. 

If there is any technical glitch in the App itself due to which you are seeing the not permitted error in Threads then doing an uninstallation and reinstalling again would be able to solve the issue.

You can uninstall Threads by long-pressing the Threads app and then selecting the option uninstall. After this, you can reinstall Threads again from Play Store or App Store.

6. Contact the Support Team of Threads

If you are unable to resolve the issue in Threads even after trying all the fixes above then it is recommended that you contact the Threads Support Team.
