However, being an online platform it can have issues and errors that might be problematic for you at times.

In this article we will be looking at the reasons why Duolingo is stuck in the loading screen and what you can do to fix it easily.

Why Is Duolingo Stuck on the Loading Screen or Not Loading?

There can be a few reasons why you are stuck on the loading screen of Duolingo whenever you are opening the app. These reasons can range from an unstable internet connection to cluttered cache files of  Duolingo in your phone.

Below we have shared some of the important reasons why you aren’t able to use Duolingo and keep showing you the loading screen and yet not load on your device.

  • The internet connection is poor.
  • You have Airplane Mode enabled.
  • There are too many cache files in your Duolingo app.
  • Threads is going through some technical issues.
  • The Duolingo Server is having an outage or going through scheduled maintenance.
  • You have enabled VPN on your device.
  • You have not updated Duolingo to the latest version.

How to Fix Duolingo Stuck on the Loading Screen or Not Loading?

1. Check the Internet Connection

The first thing that you need to do is to check the internet connection.

Duolingo needs a stable internet connection to work properly on your device so if you are unable to provide it then Duolingo might be stuck in the loading screen.

Make sure that your Wifi or phone data is turned on. Also, check and make sure that your Airplane mode is turned off. If you are in a Wifi connection then change it to a data connection.

If there is a connection issue in your Wifi then you can try to do a router reset.

  • Simply switch off the router and unplug it from all the devices and power supply.
  • Wait for 3 minutes and then plug it in again.
  • Now wait for the signal to come back and now connect to the internet through it.

Check whether you can solve the connection issue. If you still get the issue then contact the local service provider to get the issue checked.

2. Check Duolingo Server Status

The next fix that you can try when you are seeing that Duolingo is not loading or is stuck on the loading page is to check the server status of Duolingo.

Duolingo server status

If the app itself is having a server issue such as an outage or going through scheduled maintenance then that might be one of the reasons why you are seeing loading issues in your Duolingo app.

When the server is down apps like Duolingo start to malfunction as it is an online-based platform. You can wait for some time and let the technical team fix the issue and then you can try to open it when you see that the server is functional again.

3. Restart Duolingo

Another fix that you can try is to restart the Duolingo App after doing a Force Stop. On your device, go to Settings >> Apps >> Duolingo >> Force Stop to stop Duolingo immediately.

The next step is to restart Duolingo on your phone and check to see if the app is fixed.

4. Log out and Login Again

The next fix that you need to try is the easiest one out there. You need to log out and log in to your Duolingo Account.

But this fix is only applicable if you can open the login screen of Duolingo and then stuck on the loading screen. If you are stuck on the loading screen even before the login screen pops up in your Duolingo app then please try the other fixes.
